Viral! Ambulance Escapes Police Chase During Demonstration, Mdmc: We Are Not Operating It!

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - The Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center or MDMC spoke out following the viral incident of an ambulance that escaped from police pursuit, in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, during a demonstration against the Job Creation Law yesterday.

MDMC confirmed that the ambulance that was shot with tear gas by the police did not belong to Muhammadiyah.

MDMC Chairman, Budi Setiawan, emphasized that not a single ambulance was operated by MDMC during the demonstration on October 13 2020.

However, when the ambulance chase incident occurred, the location was close to the humanitarian post set up by MDMC, in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

So, the accusations were directed at the MDMC institution.

MDMC regrets that four of its medical volunteers were injured and had to be taken to hospital due to brutal police treatment when the demonstration heated up.
