Moringa Leaf Tea
Starting from the migraines and cholesterol she suffered, Syahrani Devi and her husband started processing Moringa leaves as medicine. After recovering from his illness, Syahrani, who had a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, began to develop the benefits of Moringa leaves.
With the help of two hectares of land belonging to his colleague, Syahrani started planting Moringa trees. Assisted by a worker, they started harvesting and selecting leaves. The third leaf from the shoot to the leaf that has not yet turned yellow is a quality leaf that can be used as medicine.
At one harvest, Syahrani takes forty kilograms of wet leaves. The production process was chosen by hydro drying to produce dried moringa leaves or moringa.
In the process, initial drying is carried out in a cooled room at 16 degrees Celsius for two 24 hour periods. Until the water level drops to 65 degrees Celsius. Followed by drying in a cooled machine, until the water content drops to 90 percent. From 40 kilograms of leaves, four kilograms of dried Moringa leaves were obtained. These dried leaves are used to treat high cholesterol and migraine headaches.
Moringa leaves, which contain protein and calcium, are popular with the public because they can treat a number of diseases such as diabetes, cholesterol, gout and a number of other diseases. Including anti-stunting in children.
Syahrani Devi, who is also an alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra, has now made several health medicinal products. The processed Moringa leaves have received responses from various countries such as Germany, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. (*)
