Susi Responds to the Case of the Body of a Indonesian Civil Servant Being Thrown Out to Sea
The news was first reported by a South Korean media, MBC News, which went viral because it was deemed to violate human rights (HAM).
The video went viral after YouTuber from South Korea, Jang Hansol, on his channel, Korea Reomit, discussed and translated the news.
In her tweet on Twitter, Susi again highlighted illegal fishing activities in various parts of the world. According to him, what happened to the Indonesian crew member was part of a fish theft activity.
"Illegal Unreported Unregulated Fishing = Crime that takes away the sovereignty of our fish resources = protein source = Food security = DROWN!!!!!!!! I've been screaming since 2005," said Susi in her tweet, Thursday (7/5 /2020).
Susi then explained how IUUF has worked so far. He said, IUUF is a transnational crime committed in several maritime areas, by crew and crew members from several countries.
Illegal catches, such as catching sharks for their fins in the case of Chinese ship crew members, are sold to several countries.
"Smuggling of all commodities, not only stolen fish but also rare animals, drugs & crimes against humanity/modern slavery. A very complete and extraordinarily evil crime," said Susi. SUSI PUDJIASTUTI ABK INDONESIA ABK WNI KAPAL CHINA ILLEGAL FISHING BENJINA CERITA INDONESIA
