The government has proposed the cost of the 2022 Hajj per prospective pilgrim, which was conveyed by the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organization of the Ministry of Religion, Hilman Latief, at Commission VIII of the DPR.

According to the Ministry of Religion, the proposed cost of this year's Haj pilgrimage is estimated at IDR 45 million with the addition of Covid-19 health protocol costs or IDR 42 million per prospective pilgrim without health protocol requirements.
Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Yandri Susanto previously said that the cost of the 2022 Hajj was not yet final.
DPR Commission VIII will still summon related parties such as airlines, accommodation and catering to calculate the total Hajj costs per congregation.
The increase in the Hajj quota for 2022 is highly expected by prospective pilgrims in Indonesia, considering that at least 221 thousand prospective pilgrims in 2020 have canceled their departure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
