A Series of Facts About Cassandra Angelie's Online Prostitution Case: Tariff IDR 30 Million, There Are Other Artists Involved
There are at least five facts about the online prostitution case that ensnared Cassandra Angelie.
1. Chronology of arrests
Cassandra Angelie was arrested by the Cyber Sub-Directorate team of Ditrekrimsus Polda Metro Jaya at the Ascott Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (29/12/2021).
The raid was carried out at 21.00 WIB, at which time Cassandra was arrested naked with a man.
Apart from Cassandra, the police also arrested three people who acted as pimps, namely, KK, R, and UA.
From this arrest, the police confiscated evidence in the form of bras and panties, cellphones, and ATM cards used for online prostitution transactions.
2. Reasons for entering the world of prostitution
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan revealed that Cassandra entered the world of prostitution due to economic factors.
Apart from that, Cassandra Angelie's circle of friends, who were pimps, also made her determined to join the business.
“Friendship with pimps. "There were also friends who brought him into this group so he joined," explained Zulpan.
3. Set a tariff of IDR 30 million
Zulpan also revealed that the rate charged by Cassandra was IDR 30 million.
Based on Cassandra's statement when questioned, she had only practiced prostitution five times.
"Yes, the suspect CA has only carried out online prostitution activities 5 times, then the fee was IDR 30 million." said Zulpan.
4. Subject to multiple articles
Cassandra Angelie and 3 other suspects were charged with multiple articles, namely Article 27 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 1 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE, with a penalty of 6 years in prison.
Apart from that, Article 2 paragraph 1 of Law Number 21 of 2017 concerning Eradication of the Crime of Human Trafficking, carries a maximum penalty of 16 years in prison.
Articles 506 and 296 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of one year.
5. There are other artists involved
Following the arrest of Cassandra Angelie, the police managed to obtain a list of artists and public figures involved in this online prostitution case.
The police will summon these artists and public figures for education. This effort is made so that they do not fall into the world of prostitution.
