Sadistic!! Mbc Reports Indonesian Crew Being Exploited on Chinese Fishing Vessels

SEOUL, KOMPASTV South Korean media, MBC reported a video showing atrocities against Indonesian crew members (ABK) on a Chinese fishing boat.

The news was entitled "Exclusive, 18 hour work day. If you fall ill and die, throw it into the sea".

The video was uploaded to the MBC TV station's YouTube account.

Korean YouTuber Jang Hansol discussed the video on his YouTube account, Korea Reomit.

In the video, Hansol interprets the news released by MBC.

According to Hansol, on the Chinese fishing boat, human slavery had occurred.

According to his interpretation, the Indonesian crew had to work for 30 hours, and rest for 6 hours.

"Thirty hours of standing work, interspersed with 6 hours, aka meal time, and that is counted as rest time," said Hansol in the video.

Not only that, Hansol also said that the Indonesian crew members also did not have access to mineral water.

In fact, the ship carries and stores mineral water.

They actually brought mineral water, but the only people who drank mineral water were Chinese fishermen. Meanwhile, Indonesian fishermen are told to drink filtered sea water, said Hansol.

In the MBC video, Ari (24), an Indonesian crew member, can be seen dying after being found ill a month earlier.

He allegedly became ill from drinking filtered sea water.

After he died, Ari's body was immediately thrown into the sea.

In fact, according to the agreement, if a crew member dies while working, their body will be cremated.

The heirs left behind are also entitled to insurance of 10 thousand US dollars.

Hansol also explained that the wages received by these crew members were also inadequate.

Five of the fishermen, after working for 13 months, were only paid 120 US dollars, meaning around 1.7 million rupiah, said Hansol.

These crew members thought about running away. However, they are bound by a work contract. Meanwhile, their passports were also detained.

Their passports were most likely also confiscated, after all they didn't have a large nominal deposit, so they couldn't escape. Due to things like that, it was not easy for the workers there to escape
