Robot Help Covid-19 Patient Care Medical Team

SURABAYA, KOMPAS.TV - Institute of Technology Sepuluh November Surabaya handed over a robot named Raisa to Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya on Tuesday (14/04). The name Raisa is an abbreviation of the Robot Medical Assistant ITS Unair.

This robot was specifically created to serve Covid-19 patients, who were undergoing treatment at Airlangga University Hospital Surabaya.

The Chancellor of ITS Surabaya, Mochammad Ashari said that the robot had a number of capabilities, namely being able to move with a distance of 10 meters, had a monitor screen that was connected to the operator.

The monitor screen also functions to directly detect the body temperature of the Corona patient. Robots also have 4 shelves that function to carry patient needs.

Director of Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya, Nasronuddin welcomed the submission of Raisa robot. The sophistication of technology in it is expected to reduce the task of medical personnel in caring for Corona patients.

Although it cannot replace the task of medical personnel fully, this tool is expected to reduce the interaction between Covid-19 patients and medical personnel.

The robot was then immediately operated at Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya.
