Hundreds of Palm Oil Farmers in Pontianak Hold Demonstrations, Demand Revision of Production Sharing Wages
PONTIANAK, KOMPAS.TV - A demonstration was held by hundreds of farmers in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Thursday (23/6/2022) morning.
In their action, the masses protested against profit sharing which was considered to be detrimental to farmers.
A demonstration was held by the PT PSP Palm Plasma Farmers Association at the West Kalimantan DPRD Office.
Protesters complained about the profit sharing worth IDR 50,000 to IDR 80,000 per hectare that they received every month.
Massa said that the profit sharing rule had been in effect for almost 12 years.
The protesters asked for a revision of the agreement.
