President Jokowi Conveys Good News from Research Results in America on Corona
TRIBUNNEWS. COM, JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has heard the results of research in the United States that air humidity levels, air temperature and sunlight influence the death of the Corona virus. The President said this via video conference, Friday (24/4/2020).
"This morning I heard a statement from officials from the Department of Homeland Security of the United States government who conveyed the results of research that air temperature, sunlight and air humidity levels greatly influence the speed of death of the Corona virus in the air and on non-porous surfaces," he said.
Based on this research, according to the President, higher levels of humidity and higher temperatures will shorten the life span of the virus in the air and on non-porous surfaces. According to him, this research is good and happy news for Indonesia.
"Because we live in the tropics, where the temperature is hot, the air is humid, and rich in sunlight," he said.
However, according to the President, the public must still carry out protocols to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in a disciplined manner, to avoid exposure to the virus which was first discovered in China.
