Jht Claims Polemic After Age 56, A Number of Public Figures Criticize Government Policy!
JHT funds cannot be disbursed as quickly as before, but can only be disbursed when BPJS Employment participants who stop working or are laid off are 56 years old.
The government, through the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker), issued Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning Procedures and Requirements for Payment of Old Age Security Benefits.
In this regulation, it is written that JHT benefits will be given to BPJS Employment participants when they are 56 years old.
In Article 3, it is stated that JHT benefits are provided for participants who reach retirement age as intended in Article 2 letter A
to participants upon reaching the age of 56 years.
In fact, in the previous regulation, Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 19 of 2015, JHT funds could be claimed one month after the worker resigned from work.
The Indonesian Trade Union Alliance Congress (KASBI) is concerned about the new Minister of Manpower regulations.
KASBI assesses that this policy has a big impact on the workforce, especially those affected by layoffs, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Responding to a number of objections to this regulation, Special Staff to the Minister of Manpower, Dita Indah, explained that this decision was made so that the objectives of JHT were in accordance with its designation; namely ensuring the old age of the participants.
The Ministry of Manpower also ensures that participant funds go to me personally and cannot be used by other parties, including the government.
The new JHT rules were set by the Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, on February 2 2022 and promulgated on February 4 2022.
Thus, this regulation will come into effect three months after it is promulgated, namely May 4 2022.
