Panji Gumilang feels there is criminalization and politicization in the blasphemy case!

The Criminal Investigation Police arrested the leader of the Al Zaytun Panji Gumilang Islamic Boarding School in the Baresrkrim Detention Center for the next 20 days.
Earlier on Tuesday (1/8/2023) night, Panji had been named a suspect in the blasphemy case.
The status of the suspect was determined after the case title and the Panji examination as a witness.
Meanwhile, Panji Gumilang's legal counsel said there was criminalization and politiciation in the Panji Gumilang case.
Responding to the establishment of Panji Gumilang as a suspect, Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Mahfud MD stated that the police's actions were appropriate.
But Mahfud also emphasized that even though the leader of the Islamic Boarding School was a suspect, the government would still guarantee the sustainability of education at the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School.
The Panji Gumilang case began with the emergence of various uploads on social media about the practice of worship and activities at Al-Zaytun which triggered controversy.
A number of parties then reported Panji Gumilang to the Criminal Investigation Police regarding alleged religious dependence.
In addition to the alleged case of religious dependence, the police are currently also investigating alleged money laundering involving Panji Gumilang.
PPATK had blocked 256 accounts in the name of Panji Gumilang.
