October 1945; The situation of part of the city of Bandung was destroyed before the arrival of the 23rd Armed Forces of the British-Indian armed forces. Houses and shops belonging to indigenous and Chinese residents who were burned by Republican forces, Chinese families who scavenge the remnants of their treasures under the ruins of their shop buildings, indigenous families who lost their residences, damaged offices, British-Indian army patrols, as well as indigenous and Chinese civilians who fled. Furthermore, on March 23, 1946, around 200,000 Bandung residents burned their homes and left the city to the mountains in the southern area of ​​Bandung. This was done to prevent the Allied Army and KNIL and NICA army from being able to use the city of Bandung as a military strategic headquarters in the Indonesian Independence Revolution War. The event was known as "Bandung Lautan Api".
