A banner reading the rejection of the change of street name was unfurled by residents of Jalan Madrasah II, North Sukabumi, West Jakarta.

Residents are disappointed, the policy is considered one-sided without involving residents in deliberations.

Residents from 3 community units rejected the change of street name. Madrasa II became Sheikh Abdul Karim bin Asfan.

Apart from there being no socialization, residents are also worried about the problem of managing domicile administration and correspondence.

Even before it was inaugurated, the nameplate had already been installed.

Previously, in welcoming DKI Jakarta's 495th birthday, around 22 roads and 5 villages were renamed.

The DKI Provincial Government stated that changing street names with the names of Betawi figures is to commemorate the services of their predecessors, especially the Betawi people.
