The Government Officially Prices Subsidized Cooking Oil at IDR 14 Thousand
The government has distributed 1.2 billion subsidized cooking oil, considering the soaring price of coconut cooking oil in Indonesia. This subsidized cooking oil will be sold for Rp. 14 thousand for each liter.
Previously, the price of cooking oil had soared high on the market at around 20 thousand rupiah per liter.
Hundreds of residents in Malang City queued to get cheap cooking oil.
However, the enthusiasm of the residents meant that some residents ended up going home empty-handed.
Residents in Malang City are queuing to get cheap cooking oil of IDR 14 thousand during market operations.
The queue even reached outside the fence of the Malang City Consumer Protection UPT office.
Many of them forced their way in to get cooking oil, some queued from 6 am but only got 1 liter of cooking oil, some even went home empty-handed.
Under the market operation rules, 1 KTP is allowed to buy 2 liters of cooking oil.
It's not just market operations that provide cheap cooking oil and are filled with residents. As of today, economical price cooking oil is available in a number of supermarkets and mini markets.
For example, residents in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi filled a mini market to get Rp. 14 thousand in cooking oil.
