The Government Plans to Apply a Fee of IDR 1,000 for Each Nik Access

KOMPAS.TV - The government plans to impose a fee of IDR 1,000 thousand for each access to the Population Identification Number (NIK) on population data.

However, this levy only applies to private sectors that are profit-oriented, for example, banking, insurance and capital markets.

Meanwhile, access to NIK data remains free for public service institutions such as BPJS Health and regional public hospitals, ministries, institutions and regional governments.

NIK access is usually used to verify data and the number of institutions accessing NIK data at the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to increase.

From initially only 10 institutions in 2013, it grew to 30 institutions in 2015 and now there are more than 5,000 institutions.

Later, the costs included in non-tax state revenues will be used to maintain the dukcappil system itself when the dukcapil budget decreases.
