The construction of Corona Special Hospital on Galang Island is accelerated in 20 days
The project is targeted to be completed at the end of this March.
Galang Island is located south of Batam Island and is one of the Riau Islands islands.
The plan, the government will build quarantine centers or observation and isolation of infectious diseases on the island, including the Corona virus.
In addition to its strategic location, Galang Island has air and sea access that has been built and operates well.
To realize the construction of this quarantine center, the Ministry of PUPR allocated a budget of Rp 400 billion with the operational target of March 31, 2020.
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) began to send materials used for the construction of observation, shelter, and quarantine facilities in Galang Island, Batam, Riau Islands.
The material is in the form of a modular panel that will be built on an area of 20 hectares of a total area of 80 hectares.
Director General of Cipta Karya Danis H Sumadilaga said the shipment began on Thursday (12/3/2020).
A total of 120 materials in the form of modules panels from precast concrete (precast) were sent from the Port of Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, to the Port of Sijantung Karyapura on Galang Island.
The panel module was also sent using a Hercules aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta to Hang Nadim Airport, Batam.
