The government will revoke bulk cooking oil subsidies starting May 31, 2022 and will be replaced by the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) and Domestic Price Obligation (DPO) policies.
Executive Director of Palm Oil Agribusiness Strategic Institute (PASPI), Tungkot Sipayung questioned the rules of DMO and DPOs that should not be subsidized. Where this policy will not be able to stabilize the price of migor and it's good to be able to learn from the DMO policy in 1971-1990 which succeeded in maintaining prices through the role of Bulog.
