The government will remove bulk cooking oil subsidies starting May 31 2022 and will replace them with domestic market obligation (DMO) and domestic price obligation (DPO) policies.

Executive Director of the Palm Oil Agribusiness Strategic Institute (PASPI), Tungkot Sipayung questioned the DMO and DPO regulations which cannot be subsidized. This policy will not be able to stabilize migrant prices and it would be good to learn from the 1971-1990 DMO policy which succeeded in maintaining prices through the role of Bulog.

How does PASPI view the new regulations regarding palm oil subsidies and DMOs? For complete details, see Syarifah Rahma's dialogue with the Executive Director of the Palm Oil Agribusiness Strategic Institute (PASPI), Tungkot Sipayung on Profit, CNBC Indonesia (Friday, 27/05/2022)
