Nilam Gamma1 and Danang Dangdut Academy 2 are currently working on a collaboration project. A single entitled "Panah Asmara" created by Heri Gamma1, was chosen as a collaboration single between Nilam and Danang.
Nilam Gamma1, is already known to many people as the vocalist and the only female member of the band Gamma1. Nilam has a melodious voice with a distinctive Malay twist. Together with Gamma1, Nilam successfully released Gamma1's first album entitled "1 or 2" in 2012. This album was also successful in taking them to explore the Indonesian entertainment scene to neighboring countries, namely Malaysia.
Danang's name became increasingly well known after successfully becoming the 2nd winner of Indosiar's Dangdut Academy 2 and becoming the champion of Dangdut Academy Asia Indosiar session 1 in 2015. Danang also succeeded in coloring Indonesian dangdut music by releasing the singles "Heavenly Flower", "Bidadari Jiwa" and "Satu Forever". The song "Bidadari Jiwa" was even released simultaneously in 4 Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.
“The song Panah Asmara actually tells the story of someone who is in love. So this girl has really accepted the guy's love. "So this song is an expression of love," said Nilam about the content of this song.
This song, which combines dangdut and Malay elements, comes with a modern packaging. "If we say this song is Malay Orchestra, it's because this song is packed with lots of ornaments and instruments. What is unique about this song is that it is a combination of Dangdut, Malay and there are elements of Indian music in it. And we really sing this song very lightly so that people can easily hear it," explained Danang.
Danang admitted that the idea of collaborating with other singers came from his own desire. Trying new things in music for Danang is one of the keys to maintaining its existence. “Initially I was given this song to listen to before it was arranged. Then I told my label, Trinity, that I wanted to collaborate with other singers. Then I met Nilam. Then we workshop together. "It turns out that after we had a workshop and arranged this song again, the results were good and according to what we wanted," said Danang about the beginning of this collaboration.
For Nilam, this collaborative project is a new experience. How could it not be, Nilam, who usually sings with his band mates in Gamma1, now has to duet with singers from different musical genres. “I'm really happy to be able to collaborate with Danang. Who doesn't know Danang Dangdut Academy? Of course I am happy to be involved in this collaboration. I found many new challenges. Moreover, here I am required to be able to dance. Because the video clip for this song has choreography. "With Gamma1, I never danced like that," said Nilam.
Nilam and Danang always present something new to satisfy music lovers. Likewise, they hope for the song "Panah Asmara", as a new musical presentation that can be accepted and enjoyed by all levels of society. “Singing Malay songs and Dangdut songs is actually not that different. Only in this song we have reduced the technique a little, reduced the portion of the cengkok. We only take care of the air, so that the Dangdut and Malay aroma remains there. We ensure that there is harmonization. "Because we want this song to be enjoyed by all segments, from young to old," said Danang about his hopes for this single duet.
