Nilam Gamma1 and Danang Dangdut Academy 2 are now working on collaboration projects. A single entitled "Asmara Arrows" created by Heri Gamma1, was chosen as a collaboration single between patchouli and Danang.
Nilam Gamma1, has been known to many people as vocalists and the only female personnel in the Gamma1 band. Patchouli has a melodious voice with a distinctive Malay curb. Together with Gamma1, Nilam successfully released Gamma1's first album entitled "1 or 2" in 2012. The album also successfully led them to explore the entertainment stage of the country to neighboring countries, Malaysia.
The name Danang is increasingly known after successfully becoming 2nd place in Dangdut Academy 2 Indosiar and won the Dangdut Academy Asia Indosiar Session 1 in 2015. Danang also successfully colored Indonesian dangdut music by releasing the single "Heavenly Flower", "Angel of Soul" and "One Forever". The song "Angel of Soul" was even released simultaneously in 4 Asian countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.
"This romance arrow song actually tells the story of someone who is in love. So this girl has really received the love of the guy. So this song is an expression of love," Nilam said about the contents of this song.
The song that combines dangdut and Malay elements comes with modern packaging. "If we say this song is Malay orchestra, because this song is packed with many ornaments and instruments. What is unique in this song is a blend of dangdut, Malay and there is an element of Indian music in it. And we really sing this song very lightly so that people hear it easily," Danang explained.
Danang acknowledged that the idea of collaborating with other singers began with his wishes. Trying new things in music for Danang is one of the keys to maintaining its existence. "At first I was given this song before being arranged. Then I said to my label, Trinity, wanted to collaborate with other singers. Then I was met with Patchouli. Then we workshop together. It turns out that after we workshops and this song was arranged again, the results were good and in accordance with what we wanted," said Danang about the beginning of this collaboration.
For patchouli, this collaboration project is a new experience. How not, patchouli who usually appear singing with his band colleagues in Gamma1, now must duet with singers who are different in the music genre. "I am very happy to be duet with Danang. Who does not know Danang Dangdut Academy? Surely I am happy to be involved in this collaboration. I found many new challenges. Especially here I was required to dance. Because in the video clip of this song there is a choreography.
Showing something new is always presented by Patchouli and Danang to satisfy the music lovers. Similarly, their hopes for the song "Panah Asmara", as a new music dish that can be accepted and enjoyed by all people. "Singing Malay songs with dangdut songs is actually not too different. Only in this song we indeed reduce the technique a little, reducing the portion of the bend. We only keep the air, so that there is still a dangdut and Malay aroma there.
