Natuna Heats Up, F-16 Fighter Aircraft Arrives

The situation in the waters of the Natuna Islands is still heating up due to provocation by Chinese ships.

The Indonesian Air Force deployed 4 F-16 fighter aircraft to Natuna, Riau Islands, to assist with security in Natuna waters.

Four F-16 aircraft and 60 TNI members from Air Squadron 16 Roesmin Nurjadin Pekanbaru Air Base were sent to the Natuna region in the Riau Islands Province.

The sending of troops and aircraft was to strengthen the Eagle Cross 20 operation which was centered in Natuna, following tensions in Natuna due to provocation by Chinese ships.

Roesmin Nurjadi Air Base Commander, Air Marshal Ronny Irianto Moningka, said that the sending of F-16 aircraft and TNI personnel was in accordance with orders from the TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.

Joint TNI troops continue to carry out patrols and efforts to expel foreign ships in the Natuna Sea.
Meanwhile, the Natuna regional government asked fishermen to ensure their safety during their activities.

Combat alert operations will continue until foreign ships no longer enter Indonesia's territorial waters. Pangkogabwilhan I emphasized that there is no time limit for how long operations at sea or air will last.

Troop additions continue to be made. Now, sea patrols will be accompanied by 3 Bakamla ships. According to Makogabwilhan I's latest aerial monitoring, the situation in the North Natuna Sea has not changed. Starting from coast guard ships to Chinese fishing vessels, they can still be seen sailing in Indonesian waters.
