Releasing KRI Secures Natuna Sovereignty

Today (Thursday, 01/09/2020) KKP Minister Edhy Prabowo was present in Pontianak to release three Vietnamese ships that were successfully secured in the Natuna Sea on December 30 2019. The ships that were successfully secured had a load of 98-25 grosstons. Until now, these ships are still at the Pontianak KPI PSD Station. Previously, during the process of arresting this foreign ship, there was tension between the officers and the ship belonging to the KKP. Of the six ships identified on radar, only three ships were successfully secured.

The ministry completely handed over this incident to the court for punishment. Meanwhile, patrols will also continue to be carried out in all border areas in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, in the Natuna sea itself, no foreign ships were visible. Foreign ships themselves have started to move away from the Exclusive Economic Zone. There were three Indonesian ships that departed, including KRI Usman Harun, KRI Sutedi Senoputra and KRI Teuku Umar. These ships are assigned to maintain Natuna's sovereignty by patrolling parts of North Natuna.

Indonesian fishermen themselves are still carrying out their activities as usual.
