Luhut Threatens to Take Firm Action against Parties Who Raise Ivermectin Prices
Ivermectin is currently being used for clinical trials for Covid-19 treatment therapy in Indonesia.
According to Kompas.tv's monitoring, the price of Ivermectin in a number of online marketplaces has increased tens of times what it should be.
"It seems that the price of the drug is starting to become irregular. It's being increased, so it's like Ivermectin, which costs tens of thousands even though it's actually only IDR 7,800 (per item)," he said in a virtual press conference, Saturday (3/7).
Luhut also asked the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, to set the price of ivermectin at below Rp. 10 per item during the pandemic.
Luhut emphasized that he would take firm action against parties who deliberately increase the price of Ivermectin to take advantage. He also asked the Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police not to hesitate to take action against this individual.
"I ask the Criminal Investigation Agency not to hesitate in an emergency like this, not to be strict about the people playing. I have no business who it is," said Luhut.
