Ministry of Social Affairs Revokes Act Foundation Permit, Observer: There is Potential for Embezzlement of Funds and Terrorism

GARUT, KOMPAS.TV - The Ministry of Social Affairs has revoked the permit for the collection of money and goods from the Aksi Cepat Tunjungan Foundation, ACT.

However, the ACT branch office in Garut Regency, West Java is still operating.

Head of ACT Garut Regency Branch, Muhammad Dani Ramdani, said that ACT's current activities only distribute aid to the community.

The ACT Branch Office in Pati Regency, Central Java, is also still distributing aid to residents in Margoyoso District.

However, they no longer accept donations from the public, in accordance with a decision from the social ministry.

The government's decision to revoke permits for collecting money and goods has an impact on citizens' trust.

Head of ACT Banten Area, Fais Komarudin, said that many donors chose to hold back while waiting for new developments.

Meanwhile, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center, PPATK has temporarily stopped financial transactions in 60 accounts in the name of the ACT Foundation.

PPATK claims to have discovered a flow of funds from ACT to a number of parties suspected of being affiliated with the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.

Criminal Law Observer, Asep Iwan Iriawan, assesses that there is potential for criminal acts, including terrorism, from the alleged misappropriation of funds by the Aksi Cepat Tunjungan foundation.

The government must take firm action against various foundations or institutions that misuse donations from the public, which should be channeled to humanity.
