Low tracking capability, DKI Health Office suspects that the Corona B.1.1.7 virus has long entered Indonesia

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government suspects that the Corona B.1.1.7 virus has long entered Indonesia. This concern occurs to see the low ability to track the Covid-19 Indonesia case. This leads to the possibility of a variant predicted by 40-70 percent more contagious has expanded domestically without being detected, including in Jakarta.

"Lest B.1.1.7 may have been present before we identified yesterday," said Head of P2P DKI Jakarta Health Office Dwi Oktavia, Friday (5/3/2021). Concerns also occur because of the sequence genome examination that cannot be done mass.

Because until now there are only a few central laboratories that can carry out the inspection. In line with Dwi Oktavia, a similar statement was made by the Griffith Australian University Epidemiologist Dicky Budiman. According to Dicky, the Corona B.1.1.7 virus has been spread in Indonesia since 2020. He claimed not to be surprised and had predicted before.
