Jakarta was inundated, Jokowi asked Anies to clean the sewer until the reservoir was dredging
"It is very dependent on the flood in Jakarta to clean the sewer. Then also widening from the Ciliwung River which arrived in Jakarta has narrowed," Jokowi said in a conference discussing the construction of a new capital city in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Wednesday (12/18/2019).
The former Governor of DKI Jakarta also reminded Anies Baswedan about the management of the floodgates in the Capital City. In addition, it is also related to the importance of dredging reservoirs.
"Management of floodgates including dredging reservoirs in Jakarta, such as the Pluit Reservoir and others," Jokowi said.
The central government, continued Jokowi, so far also tried to help overcome the problem of flooding. One of them accelerates the construction of dams in the Sukamahi and Ciawi regions, West Java. However, Jokowi did not deny that the two dams were not a definite guarantee of the Capital City area free from flooding.
