JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Recently, the results of research by Harvard University researchers doubted Indonesia's ability to detect the spread of the corona virus and this statement was inversely proportional to the 2019 Global Health Security or Global Health Resilience report released by The Economist Intelligence Unit which placed Indonesia's ability in 30th position out of 195 country.

China's National Health Commission said that as of Tuesday (11/02/2020) local time, 1,016 people had died in mainland China.

Meanwhile, two others died in Hong Kong and Thailand.

In total, 1,018 people have died.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo claims that until now the corona virus has not entered Indonesia.

The President asked his staff to continue to provide the mass media with the latest developments regarding the handling of the corona virus so that there is no doubt from the international community.

Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto emphasized that Indonesia has never covered up the corona virus.

Terawan added that so far his party has worked according to international standards in carrying out the corona virus checking process.

Regarding the 238 Indonesian citizens who were evacuated from Wuhan, China, the Minister of Health said that the observation period would end on February 15.

However, the government has not yet decided on the technicalities of returning them to their areas of origin.

Meanwhile, as the corona virus outbreak increases, demand for masks also increases.

Traders at Pramuka Market, Jakarta, admitted that the stock of masks was starting to become limited due to scarce supplies from distributors.

Some shops even ran out of stock altogether, prices skyrocketed hundreds of times.

The government must openly inform its citizens regarding the handling of the corona virus.

While continuing to provide understanding so as not to cause panic in the community.
