Indonesia to host MotoGP 2021, how is the Mandalika circuit prepared?

LOMBOK, KOMPAS.TV - In order to ensure that we will host MotoGP 2021, work on the Mandalika Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara continues to be accelerated.

The circuit which is scheduled to be completed at the end of this year will be a street circuit that is different from the street circuits in Macau and Singapore.

Head of Sports Operations for the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Dyan Dilato, confirmed that the circuit construction work process had reached 10 percent.
The pre-construction phase is expected to be completed in June, before the Indonesian Motor Racing Federation (FIM) carries out homologation.

The Mandalika Circuit will have a 4.31 kilometer track with 17 corners. What's special is that the Mandalika Circuit is in the middle of a tourist complex which is a special economic area surrounded by the unique natural beauty of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

The Mandalika Circuit is also the only MotoGP race track that uses the street circuit concept in the modern era, which is different from other street circuits such as in Macau and Singapore.
