Great! Ma Chung University Malang Researchers Successfully Discover Natural Antibiotics
This natural antibiotic is claimed to be an alternative to the chemical antibiotics currently used.
After conducting research for approximately two years, researchers at the Ma Chung Research Center for Photosynthetic Pigments or MRCPP found an alternative to chemical antibiotics.
MRCPP researchers discovered the marine bacterium Pseudoalteromonas Rubra which produces antimicrobial pigments.
These marine bacteria were found from sea water taken from Sebanjar beaches and Sika Island, Alor Regency, Ahun Islands, East Nusa Tenggara.
As a result, six types of antimicrobial pigments were found.
This newly discovered natural antibiotic can act as an antimicrobial against three types of bacteria, namely bacteria that cause skin infections, bacteria that cause diarrhea, and bacteria that cause typhus.
The findings of researchers from Ma-Chung University Malang certainly provide new hope in the medical world.
