Magnitude 6.8 Earthquake Rocks Bengkulu Twice: 7 Aftershocks, Here's Residents' Testimonials

TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Two earthquakes with magnitudes 6.9 and 6.8 rocked Bengkulu, Wednesday (19/8/2020).

BMKG even recorded that seven smaller scale aftershocks continued to rock Bengkulu.

The earthquake that rocked Bengkulu is known to have occurred at around 05.23 WIB.

The position of the earthquake point was 169 kilometers southwest of Bengkulu, 177 km northwest of Enggano Bengkulu, 185 kilometers southwest of North Bengkulu and 188 kilometers southwest of Central Bengkulu and 682 kilometers northwest of Jakarta, Indonesia.

After the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that rocked Bengkulu, Wednesday morning (19/08), some residents still chose to stay outside their homes for fear of aftershocks.

A Bengkulu resident explained that the first earthquake that rocked Bengkulu was quite large, causing panic.

He also explained that the first and second earthquakes caused the surrounding conditions to swing.
