Cases of alleged religious blasphemy, hate speech and the spread of fake news involving the leader of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang, continue to unfold at the National Police Headquarters.
The former Deputy Regent of Indramayu, Lucky Hakim, was also questioned for his statement for around 10 hours, Friday (14/7/2023).
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, emphasized that the Al-Zaytun Islamic boarding school will be guarded and developed so that it does not violate the law. Mahfud MD said that only the leader of the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang, had problems with the law.
Even though it is at the investigation stage, the case of alleged religious blasphemy accused against the leader of the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang, continues to spark polemics. Some parties insist that accusations of religious blasphemy should be prosecuted, others consider it slander.
At least 20 witnesses have been questioned by Bareskrim Polri investigators from the two reports submitted against Panji Gumilang. Including cases of alleged religious blasphemy. Investigators also asked for information from various experts, including Islamic religious experts, sociologists, linguists and electronic information technology experts. Panji Gumilang will also be called back as a witness.
