Dutch East Indies Documentary in 1931

An episode of "Fitzpatrick Travel-Talks", followed a ship on the way to Java. This documentary broadcasts the view of the Batavia Sea Port (now Jakarta, Indonesia); Detailing the atmosphere of the Dutch channel which was originally built for transportation, then used by some people as a place to wash clothes. The film also shows a fishing village in the Old City area of ​​Batavia, Botanical Gardens in Buitenzorg (now Bogor, Indonesia), Borobudur Temple, Kamojang Crater, Mount Papandayan, Forests, Rice fields, and markets.

James Anthony Fitzpatrick (1894-1980) is a producer, director, writer, and narrator from the United States. In 1930 he began to make a travel documentary, known as "The Voice of the Globe". Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) distributes a series entitled "Fitzpatrick Travel-Talks". These programs are famous for preserving appearance documentation and views of various cities before the emergence of skyscrapers and recording how people live at that time.
