JEMBER, KOMPAS.TV - A number of administrators of the Indonesian National Nurses Association of Jember, East Java, reported a citizen, related to comments and status on social media that was considered harassing and insulting the nurse profession.

This report was carried out by PPNI representatives, at the Jember Mapolres, on Friday (5/22/2020) afternoon.

They reported a citizen named Andreas P.W, from Padomasan Village, Jombang District, Jember, East Java for allegedly conducting hate speech.

In his Facebook account, Andreas P.W wrote the viral hashtag #IndonesiaTeramerah, accompanied by words that were considered insulting the medical professional profession.

Although Andreas has apologized openly and deleted writing and comments on his social media account, PPNI Jember continued to the legal channels.

"Our friends are all sad every day, due to this pandemic. We are grieving every day. So that when there are sentences that do not appreciate our profession, it is very injured," said Dwi Ismail, Chairperson of the PPNI Legal Division of Jember.
