In Ecuador, 'the streets are full of corpses' due to the coronavirus outbreak - BBC News Indonesia

Guayas Province, Ecuador, is the center of the Covid-19 pandemic in Latin America. In Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city, bodies were strewn in the streets as morgues and cemeteries were overwhelmed by the high death toll.

The public cemetery there also collapsed amid the pandemic. There are no longer available coffins, so many bodies are buried in cardboard.

The local government even had to send the bodies to be buried in a neighboring city.

The picture of what happened in Guayaquil is similar to what is often shown in horror films. Many bodies were placed on the side of the road and waited for days before being taken care of.

"My parents died yesterday. Help me, look at their condition," said one resident while showing the bodies of his parents wrapped in cloth and lying in front of the house.
