New Rules for Airplane Passengers, Mandatory Screening 1x24 Hours Even if You Have Been Vaccinated
Through the Minister of Home Affairs' instruction number 53 of 2021, it is mandatory for prospective passengers to bring PCR test results, 2x24 hours before departure even though they have been vaccinated.
This rule changes from the previous one, including negative PCR results which are only required for passengers who have just received the first dose of vaccine.
In the Sapa Indonesia Morning program this weekend (23/10), Hery Trianto, Head of Public Communications for the Covid-19 Task Force, said that this regulation occurred in accordance with the permitted aircraft passenger capacity of up to 100 percent.
Meanwhile, according to the General Chair of the Indonesian Consumers Foundation, the existence of PCR swab test regulations for airplane passengers is a discriminatory policy for consumers.
Deputy Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI, Melki Laka Lena, said that currently the only safe and frequently used method for testing for Covid-19 is the PCR swab test, for this reason he proposed that the price of the PCR swab test could be reduced and the distribution of PCR swab test kits can be evenly distributed throughout Indonesia.
With this new policy, it is hoped that all prospective passengers can follow it as an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19.

The mandatory PCR rules for airplane passengers will apply from October 24 2021, according to a circular from the Ministry of Transportation.
