The tornado in the Wonogiri Reservoir Pionic Panic residents!
"The tornado was seen appearing above WGM Wonogiri. The size is quite large and rotates about 10-15 minutes," BPBD Wonogiri Chief Executive Bambang Haryanto told AFP via telephone on Wednesday (1/20/2021).
Bambang said, the tornado was seen around 16.00 WIB. The first time the wind was seen above the waters around Sendang Village, Wonogiri District. Next move west then to the south.
"First appeared around Sendang Village," he explained.
After moving to the south, the wind then disappears. A tornado only appears above the waters and does not reach the mainland let alone residential areas.
"We emphasize that it appears above the waters, not to the mainland," he said.
According to him, there were no reports of any damage due to the tornado. Considering it happened above the waters of the reservoir. It's just that I had worried that the residents and fishermen were around.
"The current condition is heavy rain reservoirs. For the phenomenon of a tornado, it often appears every year, on the emergence reservoir," Bambang added.
Separately, the Village Head (Kades) Sendang, Sukamto, said the tornado appeared at around 16:00 WIB. The wind was monitored big and long enough.
"The size of the wind is quite large and the duration is quite long, yes there is a dozen minutes. Alhamdulillah then it rains then the wind disappears, so it does not reach the settlement, only above the water," Sukamto said when contacted by reporters via telephone.
Meanwhile, one of the residents of Sendang Village, Erni, said he was worried that the tornado approached the settlement. Especially now that disasters often occur in a number of other regions.
"Fortunately, the wind soon passed," said Erni.
