3 New Variants of Corona Virus, People Must Be Alert!
Even though it hasn't yet entered Indonesia, there are currently three new variants to watch out for.
The government is currently making various efforts to continue to suppress positive cases of Covid-19.
The decline in corona cases in the last few days remains a cause for concern. The reason is that after the Delta variant, now in a number of countries new variants of Covid-19 have also been discovered.
The Minister of Health said that there are three new variants currently being monitored by the government, including Lambda or C.37, the Mu variant or B.1621, and the C.1.2 variant.
The Mu variant was first discovered in Colombia in January 2021. This variant is said to have high transmission potential.

The World Health Organization (WHO) categorizes this virus into a Variant of Interest (VOI). The mu variant has now spread to 49 countries.
Second, there is the Lambda or C.37 variant, which was first discovered in Peru in December 2020.
This variant has not been found to have a severity level and is in the Variant of Interest category. The Lambda variant has spread to 42 countries.
Then thirdly there is the C.1.2 variant, which was first discovered in South Africa in May 2021. This variant is not yet included in the Variant of Concern or Variant of Interest category. However, you still need to be wary of this variant because it has been found in 9 countries.
Now the government continues to extend restrictions on community activities. Efforts to anticipate the entry of the virus have begun to be made by tightening the entrance to Indonesia.
Apart from the mandatory quarantine for 8 days, residents who will enter Indonesia must have been fully vaccinated and have carried out PCR 3 times.
Now the government continues to accelerate the acceleration of vaccination to create herd immunity.
The government will also speed up the identification of this new variant through 21 lab networks in Indonesia.
