2 perpetrators of watering down Novel Baswedan revealed, both active members of the National Police
Until now, the investigative team is conducting a deeper examination of the two perpetrators. The investigating team stated that the perpetrator who was arrested was an active member of the National Police.
The perpetrator of the attack and terror against Novel Baswedan was only revealed by the National Police after the case occurred more than 2.5 years.
Novel was attacked on April 11 2017 while walking to his residence, after performing the Fajr prayer at the Al Ihsan Mosque, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.
As a result of the acid splashing, both of Novel's eyes were seriously injured. He underwent eye surgery in Singapore. Various efforts had been made previously, but the police admitted that they had difficulty catching the perpetrator or mastermind behind the attack on Novel Baswedan.
The police have even formed a Joint Fact Finding Team this year. However, until the team's work period ended, the perpetrator at that time had not been arrested.
