10 Bodies of Tangerang Banten Class I Prison Fire Victims Identified

KOMPAS.TV - The National Police's Disaster Victim Identification Team has again identified three bodies of fire victims at the Class I Prison in Tangerang, Banten.

So far 10 bodies have been identified.

Previously, 7 bodies had been identified by the DVI team and handed over to the victims' families.

Today an additional 3 bodies were identified.

Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division, National Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Pol RUSDI, stated that identification of bodies was carried out periodically because there were still 31 bodies that had not been identified.

Previously, a fire destroyed the Tangerang Class 1 Correctional Institution (Lapas), Tangerang City, Wednesday (8/9/2021) early morning.

Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the Directorate General of Corrections, Rika Aprianti, stated that the fire occurred at around 01.50 WIB.

Initially, the fire occurred in block C of the Tangerang Class I prison. "That's right, the fire occurred at around 01.50 WIB. The fire started in block C of the Tangerang Class I Prison," said Rika.
